This album was a long time wish-list companion.
I had to have it because of the not-issued-before status of some songs. In the Netherlands it was not on sale anymore also second-hand.
Now I'm a happy man because of the quality of these songs both musically and verbally. |

| CD #1 is great, CD#2 is ok, it could have been better. If you get a good deal on it, then I say buy it. I think this is the second best one of Dylan's cds. |

| My main bone of contention with "Greatest Hits Volume 1" was due to its lack of risk. It was far too literal by what its title suggested from rock's premiere album artist. And Dylan's life blood has been in his risk-taking. On this companion statement the artist himself hand-selected all these tunes, thereby avenging the record company executives who appeared to have compiled his first volume while he retreated from public view. Songs flow nicely almost exclusively alternating between electric and acoustic. Some are obvious choices, others unexpected pleasures. The big draw, however, is the six previously unavailable tracks ranging from very good to classic. My three favorites are the scorching-blues rocker "Watching The River Flow", the lovely "Tomorrow Is A Long Time" and his spiritual "I Shall Be Released". Buy the regular-release albums covering this period first, but this is a helluva good introduction. |

| I bought this for my husband on our aniversary/ he was really surprised and amazed that I found it. The sound quality was teriffic and the price was great. It's realy hard to find cassettes today that sound as good as this one did. Thank you for having it and I'll surely buy there again. |
